Hello!For personal and professional reasons, I have decided to eliminate the "store" part of this website. Compositions by Ryan Purchase will not, for the foreseeable future, be sold to the general public.

June 18th, 2010 - Amy Horvey @ IWBC!
Hello,Just a quick note to let people know that trumpetress Amy Horvey will be performing my solo cornet piece, "Apparatus Inconcinnus" at the International Women's Brass Conference this Saturday, June 19th. The show is at 3pm in the Humber College Auditorium and is $20/$10 for seniors and students.
"Apparatus" is a piece commissioned by Ms. Horvey for her solo tour of Canada in 2006. It's very popular with all audiences (from kids to us snooty new-music types) and has since been performed at the Festival of New Trumpet Music, Chosen Vale, and on Edward Carroll's lecture tour of Italy. Ms. Horvey recently recorded the work for her debut solo CD, "interview", released by Malasartes Musique.

April 9th, 2010 - Tokaido in Ottawa!
Hey new music fans!
Violinist Donny Deacon will be performing Book One of my solo piece "The 53 Stations of the Tokaido" this weekend, at a New Music in New Places concert put on by the Ottawa Chamber Music Society and the Ottawa New Music Creators. This is the first performance since Ewa Sas, who commissioned the work, performed it in Vancouver in 2008. Here are the details for this weekend's concert:
