Malasartes Musique, part of the Monteal-based musique actuelle label DAME, will kick off its 2009-2010 series of recordings with a grand soirée! Trumpeter Amy Horvey's new CD "Interview" will be launched, as well as discs by Cordâme and Nozen.
Performances by the Damian Nisenson trio, Nozen, Ironico Orkestra, the Jean-Marc Hébert quartet, Cordâme, Bomata, and Amy Horvey are on the program.
"Interview" is the premiere recording of Ryan Purchase's "Apparatus Inconcinnus" for solo trumpet, and Amy will be performing this work at the event!

September 10th, 2009 - Folie à Deux premiere in Edmonton
On Friday, September 18th, Stephen Stone and Stephanie Geary will give the premiere performance of Ryan Purchase's "Opacity No. 3: Folie à Deux (homage to Astor Piazzolla)" for marimba and clarinet. The performance will take place at 1pm at the Stanley A. Milner Library (7 Sir Winston Churchill Square) in Edmonton, Alberta.Folie à Deux was commissioned by Stephen Stone.
